A little cupboard, a lot of love
I’m Carmen, the baker behind The Cake Cupboard.
I’ve always loved baking, but when my husband became poorly, I started baking again to help cheer him up. That love soon grew into a passion—and there were only so many cakes he could eat!
After making a cake or two for a next-door neighbour, I decided to share my baking a little further. On 1st September, I opened my honesty cake cupboard for the first time. I’ve been baking every Saturday and Sunday ever since.
On 3rd October, the family grew with the arrival of Cake Cupboard Mini—our little fridge cupboard, making room for cheesecakes and more treats that need to stay chilled.
The lovely comments, visits and messages on Facebook have brought me so much joy. Something that began as a way to cheer up someone I love has become a way to share a little happiness with my neighbours and the wider community.
Whether you choose a slice of cake, a cheesecake or a savoury bake, I hope you enjoy eating it as much as I enjoy making it.
